Door County YMCA Offers Diabetes Prevention Program

November is National Diabetes Month. One in 10 Americans have diabetes, and another 84 million American adults are at risk of developing type-2 diabetes.

The Door County YMCA has recently received national recognition from the Centers for Disease Control for its success with the Diabetes Prevention Program, which is delivered classroom style to participants who need and want support in making sustainable lifestyle changes. Participants work with certified health coaches and are challenged each week to make small dietary changes and increase physical activity. If you’re ready to make lifestyle changes to reduce your risk of developing type-2 diabetes, contact the Door County YMCA’s Tess Johnson or Tonya Felhofer at 920.743.4949.
