Door County’s First Annual Transportation Fair

On Friday, May 9 from noon – 8 pm and Saturday, May 10 from 9 am – 3 pm, the Door County Fairgrounds will be the site of Door County’s First Annual Transportation Fair. Admission to the event is free.

Whether people are looking for a different and more economical form of transportation – such as a scooter, moped, motorcycle, bicycle, or vehicle – or hoping to take a senior driver assessment test, the Transportation Fair will have what people are looking for.

Transportation related businesses, agencies and service providers will be on hand for the general public to meet. Current registrants include: Bergstrom Automotive will have vehicles available; Door County Memorial Hospital will have a therapist from their Rehab Services Dept. to inform attendees of their Safe Driver Assessment Program and will have some testing equipment available to try out; Door County Motorsports will have a variety of transportation related items such as a motorcycle, scooter, lawn mower and more; D.C. Bikes will have bicycles that will get you down the trail and to work and shopping; and the Door County/Green Bay Shuttle and Service Taxi Cab Company will have their vehicles on display and representatives will be available to answer questions. There will also be information available about transportation related services such as the American Red Cross, Sunshine House, and the Senior Resource Center bus.

In addition to the business partners, there will be children’s games and activities, a raffle with over $2,000 in prizes, and great food & refreshments. On Saturday, May 10 from 9 am – noon, the City of Sturgeon Bay Fire Department will have a truck for viewing and firefighters to talk with.

The Transportation Fair is sponsored by the Door County Transportation Consortium and the Women’s Employment Project’s Door County Transportation Options Program. Funds raised at this event will support Door County residents who have unmet transportation needs.
