Door County’s Peninsula Gun Club Offers Hunter Education Course

The Peninsula Gun Club of Fish Creek will host a DNR certified Wisconsin Basic Hunter Education Course. The course will be held from 6 – 8:15 pm on July 19, 21, 26, 28, Aug. 2, and 4. All classes will be held at the Peninsula Gun Club, located at 3702 Juddville Road in Fish Creek. The class is open to students at a recommended age of 10 years and older.

Classes will cover topics such as hunting equipment and methods, rules and regulations, sporting firearms and safety, first aid and survival, wildlife identification and management, marksmanship, and more. With the exception of Wisconsin’s “Mentored Hunting Program,” those born on or after January 1, 1973 must have a Hunter Education Certificate to be eligible for any type of Wisconsin hunting license.

All students are required to obtain a WI DNR Customer ID number before completion of this class. Numbers may be obtained by calling WI DNR Customer Service from 7 am – 10 pm at 1.888.936.7463 or by visiting any WI DNR Service Center during their regular business hours.
