Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days to Start in 2021

Organizers of the Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days are planning to move forward in 2021 with this grassroots effort to communicate with elected officials and representatives of state agencies about legislative and state-agency issues that affect Door and Kewaunee counties.

“While we are all still dealing with COVID, the state must prepare the next two-year budget,” said Scott Feldt, Kewaunee County administrator. “We feel that it is critical to engage with our state elected officials so they understand issues that are unique to our area as they develop the budget.”

The program has started with a call to area residents to submit issues of concern through the end of January using an online form. In February and March, the top five or so selected issues will be researched and prepared so they can be concisely presented to our representatives in Madison in early April to be considered as part of the state budget process.
