Door Kinetic Arts Festival Announces Featured Films And Opening Celebration

The Door Kinetic Arts Festival (DKAF) has confirmed its lineup of films and opening celebration lineup for its seventh annual fest Sept. 18-22 at Björklunden, including a new film from returning singer/writer/producer Morgan Middleton, who will also sing a piece composed by DKAF special guest Ricky Ian Gordon.

Opening night, Sept. 18, will also feature a selection of six films, including a dance film by a 12-year-old Ukrainian girl. Other films blend dance and animation or tell insightful stories within compact narratives.

Film blocks Sept. 19 include a film debut from a young Wisconsin singer/actor, a mysterious thriller and a series of dance films from around the world.

Robert Simonson, who writes about cocktails and bars for a living, primarily for the New York Times, will prepare special cocktails each night.

Other events include a night of comedy, music, cocktails and dancing Sept. 20, and new works in circus, music and dance Sept. 21-22. Information will continue to be updated at doorkinetic.com and on their Facebook page.

Festival Passes are $60 and tickets for each night are $20, available at the door or doorkinetic.com.
