Door Peninsula Winery Hosts DCAL Showcase

The 26th Annual Door County Art League (DCAL) Members Showcase, co-presented by DCAL, Woodwalk Gallery and Door Peninsula Winery, will open with a wine and cheese reception at the Peninsula Winery on Sept. 6 from 4:30 – 7:30 pm.

Over 40 artists will display artwork, including oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, photography, sculpture, fine art crafts and multi-media creations.

According to Connie Glowacki, DCAL vice president and showcase coordinator, the Juried Awards presentation and the People’s Choice selection will be announced that evening. Jurors are Ed Fenendael, Charlene Berg and Hermke Timm. The reception will culminate with the announcement of the 2012 Master Artist selected by DCAL as an outstanding creative talent and enthusiastic supporter of the arts and art education in Door County.

Allin Walker and Margaret Lockwood of Woodwalk Gallery will organize and hang the salon-style exhibit. Many items will be offered for sale.

Door Peninsula Winery is located on Highway 42 in Carlsville.

DCAL also announces Bonnie Sandstrom is the artist of the week, Sept. 2 – 9.

Primarily a pastel and watercolor artist, Sandstrom also creates mixed media collages. She is grateful for the support and encouragement she has received from the local art community, especially her teachers: Mary Bosman, Ed Fenendael and Jan Forkart.

The DCAL gallery, open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, is located at the Top of the Hill Shops on Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
