The second annual Door Prize for Portraits will open for viewing July 1 at Chez Cheryl in Baileys Harbor. This invitational exhibition includes 18 regional, established and emerging artists brought together to celebrate the portrait.
Last year the Door Prize for Portraits was launched as a house warming and art exhibit focusing on the varied styles and rich interpretation presented in a variety of media. New this year is support from the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art in Algoma, who will sponsor the $200 cash award for the Door Prize “Best in Show.” Museum of Wisconsin Art Executive Director Tom Lidtke of West Bend will select awards and will be available to present his comments at a private reception for the artists.
Artists invited to exhibit include Lori Beringer, Jan Comstock, Malin “Tudy” Ekman, Lynn Gilchrist, Emmett Johns, Ken Klopack, Liz Maltman, Mary Ulm Mayhew, Tim Nyberg, Cheryl Stidwell Parker, Bonnie Paruch, Rick Risch, Suzanne Rose, Gina Ward, Archelle “Buttons” Wolst, Cynthia Wolfe, Toler Wolfe, and last year’s “Best in Show” winner, Karen Cook.
The exhibit will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays from 12 – 4 pm through the season. For more information or to schedule a visit call Cheryl at 920.421.1690. Chez Cheryl is located at 8360 High Plateau Road, off EE, west of Baileys Harbor.
