Door Prize For Portraits 8th annual winners Announced

The Door Prize for Portraiture wrapped up July 8 at Chez Cheryl Artspace in Baileys Harbor. Door Prize winners were announced June 29 to a packed house by guest juror Shan Bryan-Hanson. Bryan-Hanson said the decisions were tough this year as artists brought their best efforts to the event.

The following awards were handed out: Honorable Mentions – Doug Henderson’s “A Childhood Memory – 56 Summit Avenue” and Suzanne Rose’s “Sideline Selfie” photograph of her daughter wearing her earbuds and taking a selfie; Emmett Johns received an award for his nearly life-size pastel of musician Jay Whitney; Best in Show – Lynn Gilchrist’s self-portrait titles “Dining Room.”
