Door Shakespeare Announces 2011 Cast Members

Door Shakepeare will present Twelfth Night, Shakespeare’s romp of mistaken identities, and Pride and Prejudice, a dramatization of Jane Austen’s famous romantic novel, in repertory from July 8 to August 21.

Familiar faces who will be returning to the garden at Bjorklunden include Kay Allmand, Debra Babich, Leslie Ann Handelman, Stephen Pearce, and Amy Ensign. Composer and music director James Valcq will return, along with Nathan Hosner. Newcomers to Door Shakespeare include Barry Saltzman, Steven Marzolf, and Scot West. Michelle Myers Berg will join the cast, along with Door County actress Anne St. Henry.

Fans of Theatre M and February’s production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)! will recognize Mark Moede.

Eight interns will join Door Shakespeare this summer including Emily Moulds, Bessie Tockstein, Ryan Patrick Shaw, Madelyn DePrey, Tim Murray, Lee Conrads, Kate Vander Velden, and Peter Mol. Sadly, health concerns have prevented executive director and actress Suzanne Graff from being a part of the company at the start of the season. Diagnosed with breast cancer this spring, Graff may join the last half of the season.

The 2011 season is under the veteran direction of Jerry Gomis. The two shows will be presented at 7:30 pm in the garden at Bjorklunden, Twelfth Night on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday; and Pride and Prejudice on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
