Door Shakespeare Announces 2014 Summer Play Selections

Door Shakespeare announces their 2014 summer season will feature William Shakespeare’s King Lear and The Comedy Of Errors. Door Shakespeare favorite Richard Ooms, will direct King Lear and star in the title role. Claudia Wilkens will also return to play the role of Fool in King Lear and will also assist in direction of the production.

Ooms and Wilkens were last seen in Door Shakespeare’s 2005 season and both work frequently in the Minneapolis theater community. Leda Hoffmann will join Door Shakespeare to direct The Comedy of Errors. Hoffmann has worked extensively with the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and recently directed the critically acclaimed productions of The Penolopiad with Luminous Theatre and King Lear with The Alchemist Theatre, both in Milwaukee.

Door Shakespeare’s 2014 season is currently scheduled to run July 5 – Aug. 16 in the Garden at Björklunden. Performances will run Tuesdays through Fridays at 8 pm as well as Saturdays at 5 pm and 8:30 pm. Tickets will be available for purchase on March 1, 2014.
