Door Shakespeare Hires New Business Manager

This May, Door Shakespeare’s producers announced that part-time Door County resident Jean Hanson will serve as the company’s new business manager. Hanson, who lives in the Twin Cities during the months when she’s not in Door County, is joining the company for the first time, and will be the first person to serve in the capacity of Door Shakespeare business manager.

Hanson’s background in accounting, law, and communication made her an ideal fit for the needs of the company and the specific requirements of this position. As business manager, Hanson will focus on running the business of Door Shakespeare, allowing producers Jerry Gomis and Suzanne Graff to focus on Door Shakespeare’s growing programs, artistic creativity and development.

Hanson’s presence will no doubt aid the growth and efficiency of an already-formidable artistic force on the peninsula. Executive producer Jerry Gomis commented, “we have waited years to be able to fill this position and cannot believe our great fortune in connecting with Jean. ”

Door Shakespeare’s season will run from July 10 until August 24, with A Midsummer Night’s Dream playing on Mondays, Thursday, and Saturdays, and Cyrano de Bergerac on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. All shows are at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $23 for adults, $16 for students, $6 for children, and can be purchased at the door or reserved in advance by phone.
