Door Shakespeare has announced the details for its fall fundraising event, “Door Shakespeare In Concert,” an evening of concert readings from Shakespearean plays. The event is scheduled for Oct. 13 at 7:30 pm in Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s Juniper Hall, located on County E in Egg Harbor.
Door Shakespeare’s Managing Director, Amy J. Ludwigsen, announced the event. “We’re thrilled to welcome back actors from past seasons to perform powerful scenes from Shakespeare’s plays, many of which have never been produced during our summer season. We also plan to present a few scenes from the plays we selected for the 2013 season, Macbeth and Love’s Labours Lost.”
Door Shakespeare actors returning for the event include Mary Frances Miller, Saren Nofs-Snyder, Jennefer Ludwigsen, Jason Economus, and Dan Katula.
Ludwigsen noted that the evening is designed to be an entertaining way to kick-off the planning and fundraising stages of the upcoming summer season. “We are making it a priority this year to stay visible and present in Door County’s off-season and offer more performance events that will make Door Shakespeare accessible to the local community during the fall and winter months.”
Tickets are $35 per person and include light refreshments. All proceeds will benefit the production costs of the company’s 2013 season. Seating is limited, and reservations are recommended.
