Door Shakespeare will do what they do best, showcase the timelessness of William Shakespeare’s works. On Oct. 13, Door Shakespeare will host its fall fundraising event, “Door Shakespeare In Concert,” an evening of concert readings from Shakespearean plays, each performed by actors who were audience favorites in recent past seasons. The event will take place at 7:30 pm in Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s Juniper Hall, located on County E in Egg Harbor.

Door Shakespeare’s Managing Director, Amy J. Ludwigsen, announced the event. “We’re thrilled to welcome back actors from past seasons to perform powerful scenes from Shakespeare’s plays, many of which we’ve never produced during our summer season,” she said. “We also plan on presenting a few scenes from the plays we’ve selected for the 2013 season, Macbeth and Love’s Labour’s Lost.

Door Shakespeare actors returning for the event include Mary Frances Miller, Saren Nofs-Snyder, Jennefer Ludwigsen, Jason Economus, Dan Katula, and more.

Ludwigsen noted that the evening is designed to be an entertaining way to kick off the planning and fundraising stages of next summer’s season. “We are making it a priority this year to stay visible and present in Door County’s off-season and offer more performance events that will make Door Shakespeare accessible to the local community during the fall and winter months.”

Tickets for “Door Shakespeare In Concert” are $35 per person and include light refreshments. All proceeds will benefit the production costs of the company’s 2013 season. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 920.839.1500. Seating is limited, so reservations are strongly recommended.
