Door Shakespeare Wine Nights

Door Shakespeare performances are underway for the 2018 season.

Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Joseph Hanreddy, is a story about reunited friendships in post-Civil War Door County that brings romance, bromance and forced happenstance. Fireworks ensue. Real-life couple Deborah Staples and David Cecsarini play everybody’s favorite Shakespeare couple, Beatrice and Benedick.

The Comedy of Errors, directed by Leda Hoffmann, tells the story of two sets of twins, separated at birth unknowingly arriving in the same port town. Mistaken identity leads to madcap hijinks. A farcical adventure with heart.

Much Ado About Nothing is performed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 pm. The Comedy of Errors is performed on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 pm and Saturdays at 5 pm.

Door Shakespeare also holds Wine Nights for the 2018 season. Meet at the garden in Björklunden at 6:15 pm on select dates, to enjoy a pre-show tasting of local wines and small plates prepared by Thyme Catering. This year’s wine nights are July 9 and Aug. 6, before the production of Much Ado About Nothing and July 26 and Aug. 14 before The Comedy of Errors. Call 920.839.1500 to reserve a place at the table.

Door Shakespeare’s season runs June 28 to Aug. 18.
