Door to Door Rides Changes for 2015

Door 2 Door Rides, Door County’s shared ride taxi and connector service, announced changes to their service areas, hours and rates – plus the addition of a new six-passenger vehicle – beginning Jan. 1, 2015. There will be expanded and redefined service areas in 2015. The zone previously referred to as the North Zone is now divided in two, the Far North Sub-Zone and the North Zone. The Far North Sub-Zone provides coverage from the Northport Ferry Dock down past Ellison Bay. The North Zone covers Sister Bay down to a newly expanded area just past Carlsville, closing the previous gap between the North and South Zones. The South Zone remains the same. A new service area map is available online at door2doorrides.com/images/d2d-2015-map.pdf.

The North-South Connector Taxi providing rides from anywhere in the Sturgeon Bay Core or Expanded Zones to anywhere in the Northern Door Zone (or visa versa) has increased hours. In 2015, the connector will operate Monday through Friday 9:30 am – 3 pm.

For the first time in Door 2 Door Ride’s five-year existence, rates will increase, but only for the taxi portion of the system. Rates will increase by $.25-$.50 per ride and the Connector Taxi Service will add a $5 surcharge to the standard $10 flat rate for those traveling from the Southern or Sturgeon Bay Core Zone to the Far North Zone.
