Door-Tran’s Volunteers Celebrated for Giving 1,770 Hours in 2016

On July 25 Door-Tran held their 4th annual volunteer picnic with more than 30 people in attendance. The attendees enjoyed a wonderful lunch, games and visiting with fellow volunteers, staff and riders.

“It was a fun day for all,” said Kim Gilson, volunteer coordinator for Door-Tran. “We are also thankful to Tadych’s Econofoods for donating over half of the food for the picnic and to the City of Sturgeon Bay for the use of Cherry Blossom Park.”

Door-Tran has more than 40 volunteer drivers, one office volunteer and 12 board members who volunteer their time to Door-Tran. “In 2016, volunteers donated more than 1,770 hours, which is equal to $21,570.22 in program savings for Door-Tran. This savings is huge for our organization and allows us to provide more services to Door County residents,” said Pam Busch, mobility manager for Door-Tran.
