DoorCountyPulse.com Crosses Million Annual Visitor Mark

The Peninsula Pulse has long been Door County’s trusted source for news and events in print, but it’s increasingly a primary source for travel planners and news seekers online.

DoorCountyPulse.com, the online home of the Peninsula Pulse and Door County Living magazine, surpassed one million unique visitors for the 12-month period ending Feb. 28, 2018. Traffic to the site increased 51 percent above the previous 12 months, with rapidly growing audiences inside and outside the county. Those visitors produced nearly two million pageviews.

“We’re proud to be increasingly turned to as a source for local news and information,” said Content Editor Myles Dannhausen Jr. “But we’re also seeing exponential growth in the number of people from outside the county who are turning to DoorCountyPulse.com to make vacation plans, keep in touch with county news, and learn about people and places to check out on their next visit.”

More than 75 percent of visitors come from outside Door County, with Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison metropolitan areas leading the way.

“We’re a newspaper and digital publication almost exclusively focused on the people, events and news of the Door Peninsula, so this data is a testament to how much people care about this place,” Dannhausen said. “These are visitors invested in this community, who want to know what’s happening here because they visit often or want to maintain that connection to this place. We’re proud to help them do that.”
