Doorfins Compete in State Tournament

The Door County YMCA swim team had one of its strongest state teams in history, with 37 swimmers in 80 individual events and 16 qualifying relays. Each swimmer and relay had to qualify by meeting a set time standard to attend the meet.

The meet was held at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Milwaukee, March 16 – 18. The team ranges in age from 6 to 17, with most of the older swimmers qualifying for the National Short Course Championship Meet in Greensboro, NC, held April 2 – 5.

Mike McHugh, Dave Bubnik and Rachael VanValkenburg coach the team.
