Doorways at Bjorklunden

Door Shakespeare’s education program, “Doorways: Creating Theatre for Children,” announced the 2010 schedule of classes. The goal of Doorways is to explore the power of creativity through developing original theatre through traditional theatre games, improvisation, and acting exercises.

This year, the grade school and high school workshop will take place August 4 – 7 at the Garden in Bjorklunden in Baileys Harbor. Grades 1 – 3 will meet from 10 am – 12:30 pm, grades 4 – 6 from 1 – 3:30 pm, August 4 – 6.

The junior high and high school session meets from 10 am – 3:30 pm on August 7 and will focus on improvisation as well as the skills needed to perform Shakespeare.

Doorways is also offering a series of classes for seniors at Scandia Village, led by Door Shakespeare’s Suzanne Graff.

The children’s workshops will be led by familiar Door Shakespeare actress and Doorways founder Jennefer Ludwigsen, who currently resides in Los Angeles. Locally, she has been a company member of Door Shakespeare for six seasons and has performed with AFT. She has also appeared on television in numerous commercials and will star in Paramount Pictures upcoming feature film Area 51.
