Doorways to Hold August Workshop

Door Shakespeare’s education program, “Doorways: Creating Theatre for Children,” is now taking registrations for its August workshop in Egg Harbor. The acting workshop for students in first grade through high school, has gained a loyal following since its first summer in 2000. This month, the workshop will take place August 14 – 16 at the Stella Maris Parish in Egg Harbor.

The goal of Doorways is to create a vibrant group of unique individuals and explore the power of creativity through developing original theatre. Daily the students will play traditional theatre games, explore improvisation and participate in acting exercises. Grades 1 – 4 and 5 – 8 meet from 10 am until 12:30 pm and will also use creative writing as a means for generating performance material. The high school session meets from 1 until 3:30 pm and will focus on the skills needed to perform Shakespeare.

The workshops will be led by familiar Door Shakespeare actress and Doorways founder Jennefer Ludwigsen. Joining her to teach the workshops will be many of Door Shakespeare’s current company members.

Doorways is proudly funded in part by a grant from the Peninsula Arts Association and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin. Please call the Door Shakespeare office at 920.839.1500 to register.
