Doug LaBrecque

Ron Bohmer, who was originally scheduled to sing in the August 10 Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) “Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch,” has been cast in a principal role in the Broadway production of The Book of Mormon. PMF congratulates Bohmer on landing this prestigious role and are pleased to welcome Doug LaBrecque to the stage. LaBrecque was one of Marvin Hamlisch’s favorite singers so he will bring a personal note to the concert.

LaBrecque is one of the most prolific concert singers of his generation. He has been a soloist with some of the world’s finest orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Israel Philharmonic, and the Cleveland Orchestra. He has appeared with more than 125 orchestras worldwide and most major Pops orchestras in America including the Philly Pops, The Boston Pops and The NY Pops at Carnegie Hall.

Mr. LaBrecque thrilled theater audiences as The Phantom and Raoul, in The Phantom of the Opera. He starred in the original cast of the Harold Prince Broadway revival of Showboat, and toured nationally with Les Misérables. He was also featured in Oscar Hammerstein’s 100th birthday celebration at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre.
