Dr. Roger Kuhns Presents at The Clearing

The Clearing Folk School’s Workshop Program presents a “field” class led by Dr. Roger Kuhns in a hands-on exploration of the Niagara Escarpment in 2010’s Year of the Escarpment. The class will take place Monday, July 26 at The Clearing in Ellison Bay.

The public is welcome to learn about the Niagara Escarpment’s flora, fauna, and fossils in the geologic past and the present in follow up to Kuhns’s Door County Living article entitled “The Story in The Rock.” Cliff habitat, paleo-ecosystems, and glacial influences that formed this unique geologic feature will be explored.

The field class will take place outdoors in various locations in northern Door County on the escarpment and includes hiking over somewhat rugged terrain. Tuition is $79 per person and includes lunch.
