Bazyli Studio Wearable Art in Baileys Harbor invites the community to their grand opening on June 27, 10 am – 6 pm. The gallery is adjacent to the studios of resident artists Skye and Peter Ciesla.
Peter is a clothing designer and fiber artist with a lifetime of experience. He’ll show his one-of-a-kind coats and vests that are a combination of organic, recycled and reclaimed textiles. In addition, he creates 2-D fiber pieces. One of his large “Butterfly” works is currently hanging in the gallery. Skye, with a background in stone, wood and fiber sculpture, is currently working on a large fiber installation, parts of which are on display in the gallery.
In addition, the two collaborate on their unique and meticulous bead embroidered couture jewelry. Their jewelry is shown in boutiques and galleries around the country, and has been on runways from coast to coast. Their designs are dynamic and ever changing, using a wide variety of materials including gemstones and found objects. Their most recent collection is called “Fragments” and incorporates Anasazi pottery shards from the American Southwest.
Bazyli Studio Wearable Art, located at 2551 Ahrens Rd. in Baileys Harbor, is open 10 am – 5 pm, Wednesday through Saturday through mid-October, or by appointment. For more information call 920.839.2526.
