Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Captured on Canvas

The idyllic history, beauty, and magic of the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse will be exemplified on Aug. 22, as Door County Art League members’ plein air paintings of the lighthouse will be on display from 4:30 – 6 pm. The public is invited to share in the charm of the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse and view the paintings of 11 painters created this summer during two plein air sessions.

“It was so exciting to arrive on a summer morning and be greeted by artists painting on the lighthouse lawn,” said Patti Podgers, curator/manager of the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum.

Participating plein air artists include: Connie Glowacki, Gay Hatfield, Ruth Sandor, Randy Rasmussen, Pat Olson, Jane Delcarson, Barbara Kenyon, Penny Pfister, Barbara Timmerman, Karen Shanahan, and Dianne Saron.

“Their work is lovely and we are delighted to have the artists capture the history of our lighthouse on canvas,” said Podgers. “We hope everyone will stop by to see the paintings and visit our lighthouse.”

Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum is open for guided tours daily from 10 – 4 pm; tours are available on the hour and half-hour through 3:30 pm. For additional information or to schedule a group tour, contact Patti Podgers, curator/manager, at 920.495.7330 or 920.421.3636.
