Eagle wrestlers 2-1 at Kewaunee Triple Dual

Southern Door’s wrestling team won two of the three duals it competed in Thursday as part of a four-team meet at Kewaunee.

The Eagles won its matchup against Kewaunee, 60-24, with Jonas Jandrin (182), Mason Motquin (120), Spencer Slezewski (126) and Wyatt Wilke (132) winning their matches on pins.

Southern Door lost to Luxemburg-Casco, 73-7, with the Eagles’ Cody Nellis winning his match on a pin.

Four Southern Door wrestlers – Jandrin, Nellis, Slezewski and Lukas Kallin – won their matches on pins when the Eagles defeated Little Chute, 51-21.

Southern Door head coach Jerry Englebert said the matchup against Kewaunee was a Packerland Conference dual and the others were non-conference.

Next Thursday, the Eagles will host Oconto, Peshtigo and Sturgeon Bay in a triple dual.
