The Southern Door softball team clinched a share of the Packerland Conference title with a 10-2 win against Kewaunee Tuesday.
The Eagles finished tied with Algoma at 14-2 in the conference and improved to 17-3 overall. Southern Door handed Algoma its only two losses of the season.
“Our goal going into the conference season was to win, and we were able to achieve that goal this season,” Southern Door Coach Courtney Renard said. “We really played consistent from the start of the season to the end.”
Kendra Dantoin and Kylie Neinas each had two hits and three RBIs for the Eagles. Tehya Bertrand had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Jackie Atkins had two hits.
Winning pitcher Grace LeGrave and Lexi Wery combined for a four hitter. LeGrave faced the minimum of nine batters in three innings of relief.
The Eagles open the regional tournament Tuesday when they host the winner of New Holstein and Omro.
“We are excited about winning a share of the conference and looking forward to playoff softball,” Renard said.
