Eagles Down Clippers in Boys Hoops

Southern Door’s boys basketball team won its 14th game in a row Thursday with a 72-53 Packerland Conference victory at Sturgeon Bay.

Drew Daoust led three Eagle players in double figures with 26 points. Taylor Schaefer, who was ejected in the second half after receiving a technical foul, added 23 points, while Jared Hawkey scored 10 more.

The Clippers’ Isaak Aune also scored 26 points, which included five 3-point baskets. Garrett Ulberg added 12 points and Calvin Richard scored nine more.

Southern Door, which improved to 11-1 in league play and 17-3 overall, next hosts a conference game Tuesday against Algoma.

Sturgeon Bay (4-10, 6-14) returns to action Monday with a non-conference game at Two Rivers.

Bulldogs Best Vikings

Gibraltar’s boys basketball team trailed by 21 points at halftime Thursday and ended up losing its home Packerland Conference contest to Peshtigo, 60-45.

Will Friedenfels led the Vikings with 11 points. Braden Sitte added nine points.

Kaine Fort led three Bulldog players in double figures with a game-high 17 points.

Gibraltar (3-9, 5-13) returns to action Saturday by hosting a non-conference game against Goodman/Pempine, prior to the next league game Tuesday at Sevastopol.
