Eagles Record 16th Straight Boys Hoops Win

Southern Door’s boys basketball team extended its winning streak to 16 games Friday with a 63-47 Packerland Conference victory at Gibraltar.

The Eagles were led by Drew Dauost, who scored a game-high 30 points and in the process exceeded the 1,200-point career scoring mark to place him eighth among Door County’s all-time scoring leaders in boys basketball in just his sophomore season.

Jared Hawkey added 12 points.

Will Friendenfels was the only Viking player to score in double figures with 18 points.

Southern Door, which improved to 13-1 in the conference and 19-3 overall, will be able to clinch the Packerland title Monday with a home victory against Kewaunee.

Gibraltar (4-10, 7-14) has a league game Monday at Sturgeon Bay.
