Eagles Top Packerland in Boys Hoops at 7-1

Southern Door’s boys basketball team took a half-game lead in the Packerland Conference standings Friday when the Eagles won their home league game against NEW Lutheran, 75-72.

Drew Daoust led three Southern Door players in double figures with a game-high 41 points. Jared Hawkey added 15 points with Taylor Schaefer scoring 12 more.

Tristian Lynch led the Blazers with 26 points, followed by Elijah Meerstein with 23 points and Jack Henschel with a dozen.

The Eagles, who improved to 7-1 in the conference and 10-3 overall, have two league games this week – Tuesday at home against Oconto and Saturday at Peshtigo.

Vikings Down Wolves

Gibrlatar’s boys basketball team trailed by a point at halftime Friday, but ended up winning its Packerland Conference game at Algoma, 58-53.

Jake Schar led the Vikings with a game-high 26 points, followed by Will Friendenfels with nine points, and Braden Sitte and Carl Burgess scoring eight points apiece.

Kaden Vardon led the Wolves with 16 points, with Parker Lischka also scoring in double figures with 14 points.

Gibraltar (3-5, 4-9) plays its next league game Thursday at Kewaunee.

Storm Stops Clippers

Sturgeon Bay’s boys basketball team trailed by 12 points at halftime and lost its home Packerland Conference game Friday against Kewaunee, 74-49.

The Clippers were led by Isaak Aune with 12 points. Garrett Ulberg added 10 points.

Thomas Stangel led three Storm players in double figures with a game-high 20 points.  

Sturgeon Bay (3-5, 5-9) next hosts NEW Lutheran on Tuesday.

Blue Devils Defeat Pioneers

Sevastopol’s boys basketball team trailed by 33 points at halftime Friday and lost its Packerland Conference home game to Oconto, 86-45.

Nick Peterson and Lucas Delsart each scored 12 points to lead the Pioneers. Zaul Valdivia added 10 points.

The Blue Devils had four players score in double figures led by Kadin Baxter with a game-high 23 points.

Sevastopol (0-8, 2-12) hosts its next league game Tuesday against Peshtigo.
