Earth Day Extravaganza

Habitat for Humanity Restore, along with the City of Sturgeon Bay and many other organizations, is hosting a free recycling extravaganza on April 22 from 12 to 5 pm at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay.

Bring unwanted electronics (computers, laptops, DVD players, VCRs, fax machines, printers, scanners, microwaves, telephones, cameras, monitors and TVs), water-based paints and stains, expired fire extinguishers, expired flares, gently used books, DVDs, CDs, cell phones, eyeglasses, sunglasses, gently worn shoes, denim, prescription drugs and select appliances (refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and non-working stoves). Light bulbs/fluorescents, mercury-containing devices, alkaline batteries, household chemicals and toys will not be accepted.

This is a free event, held rain or shine, for Door County residents. Recyclers help to reduce the amount of hazardous waste in landfills and the extraction of new raw materials from the earth.

Burgers and brats will be on sale for those wishing to use their lunch/dinner hour for drop off. Customers are asked to stay in their cars for e-waste and paint recycling. For more information, call 920.743.2869 or visit doorcountyhabitat.org.
