Featured at The Gallery of the Door County Art League (DCAL) as artist of the week beginning Oct. 7 is digital artist Erl Sandstrom.
In 2003 a retirement hobby quickly turned into an avocation when Sandstrom and his wife moved to Door County and he grew his digital photography passion. Crediting “preeminent naturalist” Roy Lukes for inspiring his nature photography and classes at Peninsula School of Art and The Clearing, Sandstrom considers his work “an excellent way of seeing and enjoying the beauty that surrounds us.”
The Gallery of DCAL will host a reception for October guest artist Ed Fenendael on Oct. 8, 3 – 5 pm. An internationally acclaimed watercolorist, he has taught and exhibited in Italy, Greece, France and Mexico, including the Atelier Galerie Letoliacha in Monet’s Village of Giverny, France. Awarded the DCAL 2008 Master Artist Award, Fenendael has tutored and mentored hundreds of artists at The Clearing in Ellison Bay and Peninsula School of the Arts in Door County and other areas of the United States including Kansas City, Florida and California.
For special end-of-the-season pricing on selected artwork, visit the gallery daily in the courtyard at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek from 11 am to 5 pm. For more information, email [email protected] or visit doorcountyartleague.org.
