Ed Fenendael Opens October at DCAL Gallery

Door County Art League (DCAL) Master Artist and international watercolorist Ed Fenendael and Beverly Hart Branson are the Guest Artist and Artist of the Week, respectively, at the Gallery of the Door County Art League in October. A reception for Fenendael is scheduled for Oct. 8, 3 – 5 pm, in the courtyard at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek.

Fenendael has come a long way since the one-room schoolhouse he attended in Pound, Wis. An internationally acclaimed artist, he has taught and exhibited in Italy, Greece, France and Mexico, including the Atelier Galerie Létoliacha in Monet’s Village of Giverny, France. Many artists have been fortunate to travel internationally with him painting the wonders of the world. From April to October in Door County, he shares his excitement for watercolor in classes at his Morning Mist Studio at his co-owned B&B, the Inn at Windmill Farm, in Baileys Harbor. A graduate of Lawrence University, Hart Branson is the artist of the week beginning Oct. 1. She’s had an “impulse to create” with watercolor and ink in Door County since her childhood days of exploring Lake Michigan with her parents and her “art stuff.” She loves to paint plein air and to “experience the moods of the season.” Hart Branson’s Treetop Studio in Sturgeon Bay features her watercolors and inks.
