Edgewood Opens 50th-Anniversary Season with Benefit Cookbook

Edgewood Orchard Galleries is celebrating the beginning of its 50th-anniversary season with a group show of artwork featured in a new benefit cookbook.

During an opening-day reception on May 4, 10 am – 5 pm, the public is invited to visit the gallery and sculpture garden, enjoy complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, and view newly completed original artwork by more than 150 exhibiting artists.

The benefit cookbook, An Artist’s Food for Joy, is Edgewood’s third cookbook. The first two sold-out editions raised more than $225,000 to support nonprofit organizations benefiting children. This group show will also include other food-, kitchen- and cooking-related artwork.

Sue Steckart Jarosh will have a book signing on May 4, 10 am – 3 pm, for Lighthouse Hero: the third in a series of children’s books featuring historic Door County landmarks.

The work of sculptor and furniture maker Nathan Hatch, jeweler Patricia Locke and painter Dale Olsen will be featured during Exhibit I, whose opening reception will be held May 25, 4-7 pm. Olsen will offer a painting demonstration on May 26, 1-3 pm.

Edgewood Orchard Galleries, 4140 Peninsula Players Road in Fish Creek, is open daily, 10 am – 5 pm, through Oct. 27 (after the May 4 opening). Call 920.868.3579 or visit edgewoodorchard.com to learn more.
