Edgewood Orchard Galleries will celebrate the opening of it fifth and final show of the gallery’s 2012 season with a reception and book signing from 1 – 5 pm on Sept. 29. Exhibit V features a group show titled “Gifts from the Heart” as well as original drawings by well loved children’s author Nancy Carlson. Edgewood Orchard Galleries’ 14th annual “Gifts from the Heart” show of artwork – especially good for gift-giving – will return and be hanging in the gallery from Sept. 29 until the gallery closes for the season on Oct. 28. Included in the “Gifts from the Heart” exhibit will be newly delivered smaller paintings from many of Edgewood’s artists, as well as a new selection of glass snowmen, holiday ornaments, jewelry, clay pieces and holiday stationary items that were not available earlier in the gallery season. Free holiday gift-wrapping is available for all items.

Sculpture by David Wright.

Having shown her work at Edgewood Orchard since the ‘80s, Carlson will be at the gallery during the opening reception to sign books from 2 – 3 pm. She will speak to those in attendance about her experiences writing and illustrating children’s books for over 30 years and will also take audience questions.
