Edgewood Orchard Galleries will be hosting a jewelry trunk show for nationally-renowned jeweler Julie Shaw July 4 – 6 from 10 am – 5 pm. Shaw will be present at the Edgewood Orchard Galleries to meet gallery visitors and answer questions about her work.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Julie began making jewelry at age 12 at the Cranbrook Institute of Science, where she learned to cut and polish stones. She placed the stones on chains and sold them to the local ‘five and dime’ store. Later, she studied painting at the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts, followed by the Sir John Cass Art College in London.
Following her time abroad, Shaw returned to her first love: jewelry. Her jewelry is made from sterling silver, 14k and 22k gold, precious and semiprecious stones, as well as select stones she cuts herself.
Edgewood Orchard Galleries is located at 4140 Peninsula Players Road, 1 block east of Highway 42 between Juddville and Fish Creek. For more information call 920.868.3579, email [email protected], or visit http://www.edgewoodorchard.com.
