Edgewood Orchard Hangs Up Final Show of 2010 Season

“Setting Sun” by Rodger Bechtold

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will celebrate the opening of the fifth and final show of the gallery’s 2010 season with a reception and painting demonstration from 1 – 5 pm on Saturday, September 25. Exhibit V will feature a group show entitled “Into the Night” in the gallery’s restored fruit barn and an individual show by award-winning painter Mary Ulm Mayhew in “The Little Gallery.” Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and the public is welcome.

After several years of hearing artist and customer requests for a “nocturnal” themed show, gallery owners Nell and J.R. Jarosh decided to give the idea a try with the group show titled “Into the Night.”

“Visitors to the gallery will be treated to a collection of colorful sunsets, engaging moonrises and can even pause to gaze at the northern lights,” said J.R. Jarosh.

Mayhew’s exhibit will feature a variety of paintings from places she has traveled. “As an artist, I have traveled to many locations capturing the changing landscape in every season and light,” said Mayhew, “but it is at my studio and farm in rural Newburg, Wisconsin that I find my greatest inspiration.” Mayhew will be available during the opening reception to answer questions and demonstrate painting.

In addition, Edgewood Orchard Galleries’ 12th annual “Gifts from the Heart” show will return until the gallery closes for the season on Sunday, October 31. The Edgewood Orchard cookbook, An Artist’s Food for the Soul, will be available along with smaller paintings from a variety of Edgewood’s artists, and holiday items.

Edgewood Orchard Galleries, open 10 am – 5 pm daily, is located at 4140 Peninsula Players Road, one block east of Highway 42, between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. For more information, call 920.868.3579 or visit http://www.edgewoodorchard.com.
