Edgewood’s Exhibit IV Opens with Sept. 4 Reception

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will host a reception to open its Exhibit IV, running through Oct. 5, on Sept. 4, 4-7 pm. Refreshments will be served in the courtyard, and the featured artists will give short talks about their work at 5 pm.

The season’s fourth exhibit highlights the work of four artists. Iowa clay artist Nancy Briggs is a longtime ceramics teacher whose sculptural clay pieces include animals, birds and book forms. Door County painter Ginnie Cappaert creates the colorful, abstract landscape forms in her paintings by building up and scraping down many thin layers of oil paint to create a final, peaceful mix of texture and color.

Delaware jeweler Olga Ganoudis has achieved international fame with her jewelry featured on Game of Thrones. Her work evokes feelings of the past through the use of symbolic shapes, textures and patinas. And Marshfield, Wisconsin, painter Rebecca Korth’s realistic still-life pieces are beautifully composed and exquisitely painted. The bird she includes in each of her pieces honors her mother and makes her work easily recognizable.

Edgewood Orchard Galleries (edgewoodorchard.com) is located at 4140 Peninsula Players Road in Fish Creek.
