Edgewood’s Exhibit V: Good for Gift Giving

Original illustration by Renée Graef

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will celebrate the opening of Exhibit V, the final show of the gallery’s 2011 season, with a reception and book signing from 1 – 5 pm on Saturday, September 24. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and the public is welcome to attend.

The reception will celebrate the opening of Edgewood Orchard Galleries’ 13th annual “Gifts from the Heart.” This exhibit of smaller and more holiday themed artwork includes a collection of newly completed paintings, pottery, jewelry and glass that have just arrived at the gallery. The Edgewood Orchard cookbook, An Artist’s Food for the Soul, remains a popular gift selection, as cookbook sales have now raised over $90,000 for non-for-profit programs designed to benefit children.

Also part of the season’s final exhibit, the Courtyard Gallery will host a show of original illustrations by artist Renée Graef from the children’s book D is for Dala Horse: A Nordic Countries Alphabet. Graef will be at the galleries from 1 – 5 pm during Saturday afternoon’s opening reception signing copies of her new book and answering questions about her work. She has illustrated over 70 books for children including the Kirsten series in the American Girl collection and many of the My First Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder for HarperCollins.

Edgewood Orchard Galleries, located at 4140 Peninsula Players Road, one block east of Highway 42, is open 10 am – 5 pm daily through October 30. For more information call 920.868.3579 or visit http://www.edgewoodorchard.com.
