The first play of the 2015 summer/fall season for Third Avenue Playhouse’s (TAP) Stage Door Theatre Company – Educating Rita – began its run on July 9.
In Educating Rita, directed by Robert Boles, Rita, a brash, young hairdresser with a free spirit, is hungry to improve her lot in life. When she enrolls at the local university, she discovers a passion for literature and turns her boozy and burnt-out professor’s life upside down in this award-winning comedy. Katherine Duffy will play Rita and Dave Brhel returns to the TAP stage as the professor.
Performances will be held July 9 – 25 at 7:30 pm Wednesdays through Saturdays, and 2 pm Sundays. A special Tuesday evening performance is set for July 21. Tickets are $25 general admission and $10 students.
