Educational Experiences

For three days, the Boys & Girls Club of Door County partnered with Door Shakespeare for a short-term educational experience focused on the performing arts during the afternoons of July 29 – 31.

Boys & Girls Club members had the opportunity to participate in workshops focusing on improvisation, theatre games, Shakespearean text, storytelling, and work with Door Shakespeare’s Doorways program staff to create an original theatre piece. Additionally, members participating in the program had the opportunity to attend Door Shakespeare’s professional performance of The Comedy of Errors on July 31 in the Garden at Björklunden in Baileys Harbor.

This summer partnership between the Boys & Girls Club and Door Shakespeare was made possible by a grant from the Door County Community Foundation. Through this opportunity, members were able to experience professional theatre, and develop and expand their interest and abilities in the performing arts.
