Effectively Communicating About Climate Change

“Effective Communication in the Face of Skepticism: Climate Change” will be the topic at the Climate Change Coalition’s June program, set for June 20, 7 pm at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay. Katie Krouse, Climate Change Coalition coordinator, is the speaker. The event is free and open to the public.

How do we effectively communicate with others about climate change? Despite skepticism and resistance, it is possible to communicate with our peers and act in concert with one another to bring about needed change. This program will share tools and strategies for communicating about climate change in a positive, assertive and effective way.

Krouse has studied communication about climate change for several years and has given presentations on the topic in numerous settings, most recently at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc. She has a degree in aquatic sciences from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. In addition to her Climate Change Coalition position, she is program coordinator at the Ridges Sanctuary.
