Egg Harbor Cancels Pumpkin Patch Festival, Sister Bay Deciding Fate of Fall Fest

The Village of Egg Harbor has voted to cancel its remaining 2020 festivals, including Egg Harbor Ale Fest in September and the hugely popular Pumpkin Patch Festival scheduled for Oct. 9-11. The village will continue to hold its farmers’ market and concerts in the park, however.

The cancellations come in response to the increasing cases of COVID-19 nationally and locally. Door County reported six more positive tests for the coronavirus July 13, bringing the county’s total to 59. Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Door County Public Health says that gatherings of 50 or more people are inadvisable. Pumpkin Patch Festival is one of the largest festivals of the year on the peninsula, drawing thousands to Egg Harbor for live music, food and fall colors.

The Village of Sister Bay has canceled events through August. The Sister Bay Advancement Association will meet later this month to discuss the fate of Fall Fest, held the week after Pumpkin Patch Festival. The village was poised to celebrate Fall Fest’s 75th anniversary this year.
