Egg Harbor Marina Dedicated

• Egg Harbor’s new marina was dedicated Aug. 14, marking the culmination of a tumultuous four years of debate and planning. The $6.5 million marina features 63 slips, handicap accessibility, and natural storm water runoff filtration.

• The Ephraim Village Board discussed possibilities for a memorial to late Assistant Chief Bill Weborg, who died of a heart attack while responding to a call in 2004. The board discussed concerns that the village does not have an ordinance to properly regulate such monuments or memorials, and referred the item to its Planning Committee to develop an ordinance for memorials.

• Ephraim Village Assessor Mike Walker presented his re-valuation report to the village board Aug. 9. Walker said the re-valuation will not be much different than the last one and that property owners should not expect sticker shock.

• Tom Soik, of Soik Communications, transferred management of the Sturgeon Bay Public Access channels to Mann Communications. Soik had run the channel for 12 years. Mann Communications is managed by Morgan and Jason Mann. Soik is leaving to pursue more video production projects.
