Egg Harbor Unveils Permanent Egg Sculptures

The Village of Egg Harbor will unveil three new artist-created egg sculptures that will become part of village’s permanent outdoor art collection. The unveiling takes place at 2 pm on May 24 at Harbor View Park in Egg Harbor, overlooking the waters of Green Bay. The public art project EGGstravanza began in 2014 with 50 artist-created eggs in honor of the village’s 50th anniversary. The eggs were later auctioned off to raise funds for public art in the village.

From the profits of that event, the Village commissioned three new eggs from artists Cynthia Board and Kathleen Mand Beck, Sally Everhardus, and Dave Riemer.

“Back by popular demand, EGGstravangza is a playful and exciting project that helps make Egg Harbor a great destination for visitors and residents,” says T.C. Johnson, Egg Harbor Village board member and Public Art Committee member. “It’s exciting that these three new eggs will become part of the permanent installation in the park for everyone to enjoy year-round.”

The artists will be in attendance to discuss their work and answer questions. Refreshments will be served. At noon, an interactive program featuring live birds titled “Bird City” will precede the unveiling.
