Egg Harbor’s Charles Cady

Join the Egg Harbor Historical Society for a program about Charles Cady on Oct. 6, 1:30 pm, at the Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church St. in Egg Harbor. It will include a recorded interview with his granddaughter Bonnie Cady.

In 1907, Charles R. Cady – at the young age of 25 – purchased Levi Thorp’s Cupola House and 100 acres of farm and orchard land. In 1911, Cady added the Manny farm, which was north along County E, to bring his village land holdings to 130 acres, and he named it Hillcrest. The Cady family has summered and vacationed in Egg Harbor for 114 years – so far.
