EHF Nominates Helen Hoeppner Sohns and Warren Davis as Changemakers

The Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) has accepted the Ephraim Historical Foundation’s (EHF) nomination of Helen Hoeppner Sohns and Warren Davis as Changemakers: one of three nomination categories in WHS’s 175 Campaign (wisconsinhistory.org/175#changemakers). To celebrate its 175th year of collecting and sharing history, WHS will post inspiring, true stories of influential people throughout the year.

Sohns, an Ephraim school teacher; and Davis, a summer resident, were strong advocates for preserving and sharing the history of Ephraim, and their efforts led to saving the village’s Pioneer Schoolhouse in the late 1940s and establishing the EHF in 1949 to continue preserving irreplaceable village structures. Read their remarkable story on the WHS and EHF Facebook sites or at ephraim.org.
