Eight-week Clinical Somatic Education Class Begins Jan. 16

Lori Strantz, owner of Lori Somatics & Massage Therapy in Ephraim, is offering an eight-week Clinical Somatic Education class series. This series of classes will target the areas of the body that are affected by stress, anxiety and injury through floor-based, slow, gentle, enjoyable and extremely effective movements. Classes are beneficial for anyone at any level and will include no force or stretching in the movements. Classes are also beneficial for those who would like to improve their fitness or athletic goals, such as golfing.

Strantz will teach participants how to alleviate, prevent and even reverse the chronic physical complaints that many people often mistake as inevitable in aging. These specialized movements are neuromuscular re-education that creates permanent change and freedom of movement. Learn how to work with stress, trauma, and pain that can lead to stiffness, limited flexibility, weakness, balance and coordination issues, loss of energy and inability to breathe deeply.

Sessions will be held 10:30-11:30am Tuesdays, Jan. 16 through March 6, and 10:30-11:30am Thursdays, Jan. 18 through March 15 (no class Feb. 8). The cost is $120 for each eight-week series and includes take-home handouts. Preregistration required by Jan. 12. To register, contact Strantz at 920.868.9493, [email protected] or visit lorisomaticsmassage.com. Lori Somatics & Massage Therapy is located at the Green Gables Shops, 10347 Hwy 42, Ephraim.
