Eleanor Roosevelt to Visit Algoma on Nov. 9

The Algoma Library Friends present Jessica Michna as Eleanor Roosevelt on Nov. 9 at 1:30 pm in the Algoma Elementary School Auditorium, 514 Fremont Street in Algoma.

Jessica Michna, portraying Eleanor Roosevelt, shares with the audience Eleanor’s tragedies and triumphs. Born into the opulent wealth of America’s “golden age” she would grow from the shy, homely orphan into a confident, driven woman. Annealed by personal tragedy, she would emerge as a champion of civil rights, author and stateswoman.

Michna has entertained groups throughout America including guests from as far away as New Zealand, Japan and Brazil. She has appeared before historical societies, schools, libraries, living history museums, senior centers and churches.

Tickets are $6 per person, $5 for veterans and can be purchased from members of the Algoma Library Friends, at the Algoma Public Library or at the door on November 9. Funds raised go to support unbudgeted projects and programs for the Algoma Public Library.
