Election 2018: Walker, Evers Tied in Latest Poll

Gov. Scott Walker, seeking his third term as governor, has not done much campaigning in Door County. He attended a Republican Party dinner in Sturgeon Bay last spring, and his last visits before that were both school related, the most recent being a visit to Gibraltar School and to Southern Door in September 2017.

In an Oct. 22 CNN report, that looked at election forecasts, Walker was cast as the underdog in this race, partly due to the current political environment. On Halloween, the Marquette Law School released its final poll before the election and found the gubernatorial race to be tied at 47 percent support for both candidates.
