Ellie Helm Foundation Fish Boil Benefit June 24

The community is invited to a benefit fish boil for the Ellie Helm Foundation on June 24 at the Old Post Office Restaurant in Ephraim. Helm grew up in Fish Creek, a community that supported her and helped shape who she was to become – a lover of the outdoors, animals, kids and the elderly. She believed in touching the lives of everyone she met, no matter how small that touch was.

Admission is $25 for adults and $17 for children 12 and below. The cost includes fresh whitefish, potatoes, onions, coleslaw, homemade bread, cherry pie à la mode and a non-alcoholic beverage. Chicken or ribs available upon request. Three seatings are scheduled for 5, 6:30 and 7:45 pm. Call 920.854.4034 for reservations.

On Sept. 29, 2017, Helm lost her life suddenly and tragically in an ATV accident. She was the daughter of Don and Polly Helm of Fish Creek. Her family established The Ellie Helm Foundation to keep her loving legacy alive. The foundation supports educational opportunities and positive life skills development for youth, promotes awareness of depression and suicide prevention among young adults, as well as supports meaning connections and social engagement for the elderly.
